Qualifications

The Technology Specialist is responsible for operating, programming, installing and maintaining selected FCA security systems, hardware and software, associated with fire, Access Control Systems (ACS), CCTV, and interfaces located in the NAFTA region. The Specialist formulates project scopes of work, enforces work standards, and assigns contractor schedules. He/she will maintain communications with vendors, field staff, and other sub-contractors during all phases of projects and service requests. The selected candidate simultaneous management of multiple projects and service requests at multiple NAFTA facilities to locate, design, install, test, inspect, and integrate security and fire related systems. This position will service local and networked computer systems used by security personnel.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum 5 years of working with access control, CCTV, fire system both fixed and portable, and special fire protection systems

  • 5 years of hands-on experience in information technology or fire/safety related field

  • Strong knowledge of office operations

  • Strong analytical skills needed to analyze complex data and develop reasonable analysis, appropriate conclusions and/or innovative solutions

  • Strong interpersonal communication, writing, and analytical skills

  • Proficient computer skills

  • Proven ability to work in detailed-oriented environment

  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously

  • Confidentiality and discretion of information is critical

  • Ability to solve practical problems and carry out responsibilities under general supervision

  • Experience working with or in a group of highly specialized technicians

  • Must be willing to travel, work weekends, holidays and off shift hours if required

  • Experience in working in both an office and manufacturing environments

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Electronics Technology, Loss Prevention, Criminal Justice, or other related fields

  • Experience with low voltage electrical

  • Understanding and knowledge of access control, CCTV, fire system hardware components

  • Experience in project supervision in areas such as, design, installation, testing, service, and integration of systems

  • Proven leadership capabilities with progressive management experience in physical and large integrated security projects

  • Experience working in fast paced production facilities that limit downtime
