Job Summary

Join the Collins Aerospace Avionics team to be a trusted partner in all employee matters, while supporting operational success by partnering with employees and leaders. Employee Relations Consultants must strive to strengthen relationships, develop proactive workplace solutions, provide a balanced perspective, and ensure business continuity and compliance adherence. Integrity and trust are of the utmost importance in this crucial role as well as the ability to practice attentive and active listening and accurately restate the opinions of others. The ability to resolve conflict to satisfaction of both parties is a critical skill required for this role.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coach management on difficult performance discussions, success plans and corrective actions

  • Conduct and support investigations; drive to closure ensuring compliance and actions are appropriately and professionally managed

  • Partner with HR Business Partners to highlight Employee Relations trends, concerns and improvement recommendations

  • Creates and facilitate Employee Relations training and coaching for managers

  • Mentors other HR Representatives on HR responsibilities and policies

  • Conducts investigations and writes company response to EEOC charges

  • Networks with personnel across HR organization.

  • Represents Employee Relations as SME and focal point on programs or project work

Basic Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in appropriate discipline or in the absence of a degree six years of related experience

  • Minimum of 5 years professional experience in Human Resources

  • Employee Relations experience preferred

  • Candidate must be willing to relocate to Cedar Rapids, IA

Preferred:

  • Experience coaching and collaborating with leaders on complex HR issues

  • Experience with conflict resolution in the work environment and mediating between parties

  • Interpreting HR policies and consulting employees and leaders on policies Preferred Qualifications
