Job Description

The Intern is responsible for specific tasks and projects that will facilitate operational efficiency across all organizational lines of business. This may include projects for structuring, managing and prioritizing a wide range of analytics activities as well as performing valuable analyses for corporate level projects. Applicant will be required to work in our Cedar Falls, IA office location.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

To accomplish company goals and objectives while assisting the student in gaining valuable experience in the workforce. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Use proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to assist analysts in solving problems

  • Help to develop, implement, and maintain effective statistical models

  • Assist analysts to structure, test, and analyze data in support of corporate or other business unit decisions, including, but not limited to: account segmentation/ scoring methodology, skip trace, direct mail, speech analytics and account strategy effectiveness

  • Aid analysts in data analysis designed to develop strategic and tactical management procedures to support the goals for each line of business

  • Provide post-project analysis in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements and outcomes

Required Skills/Experience

  • Currently enrolled in BS/BA Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field

  • One year of analysis (statistical, business, data, operational, or financial) experience preferred

  • Knowledge in importing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flow charts preferred

  • Experience in Microsoft Products such as Excel, Access and PowerPoint required

  • Knowledge and experience with statistical software, particularly SAS, preferred

  • Knowledge of statistical and business modeling preferred

  • Excellent written, oral and collaboration skills

  • Ability to contribute to and summarize collaborative projects

  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work in cross-functional team environment

  • Ability to work with end-users, understand business objectives, and effectively manage expectations

  • General knowledge of software design concepts

  • Ability to frame a business case through cost and benefit analysis or applicable method

  • Able to establish priorities and structure personal work load
