Sutter Health RN II - Nursery Per Diem Evening Shift in Castro Valley, California


Provides professional nursing care for infants in the nursery and for mothers in the post partum unit; coordinates care planning with other disciplines; maintains standards of professional practice.


Minimum Education:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Minimum Experience:

2-3 years of previous clinical experience in neonatal ICU and obstetrical nursing


Current California RN license; NRP (Neonatal resuscitation program)



Annual attendance at job related workshops/conferences. Must attend annual skills review.

Must take and successfully complete the Nat'l League of Nsg Med Admin exam during probationary period.

Physical Demands:

Frequent standing/walking

Frequently lifts, positions, pushes and/or transfers patients

Occasional reaching stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching

Working Conditions:

Contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances

Exposed to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries and illness)

Handles emergency or crisis situations

May be exposed to infections and contagious diseases

May perform emergency care

Occasional pressure due to multiple call in inquiries

Occasionally subjected to irregular hours

Subject to varying and unpredictable situations
