Machine/equipment includes forklifts, palletizers, bagger and case/box erectors.ResponsibilitiesComply with all company policies, procedures, GMP's, code of safe practices, and SOP'sCheck product specification to ensure correct packaging materials and raw materials are being used and coding is correctContinually check products to ensure that they are within specifications and of high qualityPerform machine change-overs as requiredReplenish packaging supplies such as film, boxes, cartons, glue, ink or labelsMake adjustments to machine as necessary and observe to detect any malfunctionsClear away any damaged product containersKeep work area clean following HACCP programPerform cleaning and sanitation on machines as required between productsPerform trouble shooting, minor repairs and communicate with mechanics regarding any mechanical problemsHave constant awareness of production flow; upstream and downstreamTake packaging supplies from warehouse to production by using electric palletjacks.Install 45# to 100# rolls of film or boxes onto packaging machine. These rolls or bundles have to be carried 10 to 12 feet and lifted to heights of 24 to 36 inches. This is done 3-4 times a shift.Operator has to climb stairs to top of platform to adjust equipment.Stack 24# to 30# cases of product onto skids to heights up to 6 feet.Required to wear hairnet, smock, boots or overshoes, ear plugs, gloves, plastic sleeves, and aprons provided by the Company.QualificationsRequired Education, Experience, Certification, License or Membership:Prefer High school diploma or general education degree (GED)Forklift/Palletjack CertificationiMinimum of 1 year of experience in food manufacturing environment or equivalent type of manufacturingAbility to communicate effectively verbally and writteniiEmployee Safety Responsibilities:Report all injuries, unsafe conditions, unsafe acts and horseplayUse proper lifting techniquesUse mechanical assistance (handjacks, forklifts)Use personal assistance (buddy)Use handrailsUse and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
