Position Summary:

Assist the DON in maintaining the standards of resident care, advising the medical staff, department heads, assisted living manager, and administrator in matters related to nursing services. Assist the DON and assisted living manager in establishing policies, interpreting those policies according to the standards of nursing practice, and with general staff development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administration of policies and procedures of Memory Support.

  • Planning, organizing, and supervising the memory support around the clock in order to insure competent nursing care for the residents.

  • Assist or maintain an active staff development program.

  • Encourages increased competency and skill in all levels of assisted living and memory support Department staff.

  • Schedule and complete functional assessments and meet with families and residents.

  • Update service plans.

  • Monitors the resident medical and nursing history for completeness and inclusion in the medical record.

  • May serve as care plan coordinator to conduct care plan conferences and maintains the each conference is interdisciplinary.

  • Participates in QAA.

  • Establishes and maintains good public relations.

  • Maintain the standards of care.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Assist with Directly Supervising of employees in Memory Support. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities assigning and directing work performance also rewarding and disciplining employees.

Educational Requirements and Experience:

  • Registered Nurse with a current license in good standing.

  • experience in long-term care, assisted living, and/or memory support.

  • Assisted Living Assessment Skills a must

  • Knowledgeable of standards of care and practices applicable to the delivery of geriatric services, complex medical conditions, multiple medical diagnoses, including preventive measures, rehabilitation, and promoting independence.
