About the opportunity
We are looking to appoint a Manager in North Queensland to lead, grow and manage the Transport Section. You’ll focus on maintaining and further developing ongoing strategic relationships with our clients, winning business and have responsibility for the operational performance of the team.
The role is client and people management; however, it will also include technical delivery, quality control, mentoring, and discipline leadership on projects as required. You’ll play a key role in the North Queensland leadership team and help to shape and develop the strategic direction for the team.
Based in Cairns, you’ll report to the Director of Operations – North Queensland.
To be considered for this role, you will have strong leadership skills including a strategic focus to lead the growth of the North Queensland Transport practice.In addition, you will have:
A tertiary qualification in civil engineering (mandatory)
An excellent understanding of / familiarity with local TMR market
Understanding of industry standards and best practices.
Project management knowledge and skill set
Experience in developing new clients, tender submissions.
Construction Safety Training (White Card).
Current driver’s license
Demonstrated experience in managing a large and diverse team
Ability to articulate a clear direction
Previous operations management experience including profitability, scope growth, commercial management, corporate compliance and safety/risk management
Previous consulting experience is highly desirable
