Industrial Sales Consultant - Job Description

Alamance Oil Co., located in Burlington NC is looking for a dedicated Industrial Lubricant Consultant to join our existing sales team. Alamance Oil Co. is a sister company to Berico Fuels in Greensboro NC. This is a salary/commissioned based position. Technical sales experience preferred but not necessary.

This team member will be responsible for opening new and maintaining current accounts within industrial centered companies with a 100 mile radius. Our current product line consist of; engine oils, transmission fluids, greases, gear lubricants, compressor oil, hydraulic oil food grade lubricants and specialty products.

We are seeking a highly individual with great sales skills. Pay and benefits to be discussed at interview and will be based on qualifications and performance.

Competency Roles:

  • Provide input on marketing and advertising techniques.

  • Adhere to price tiers of products and properly position the company to reach financial goals.

  • To communicate with Motor Oil Manager to ensure packaging and delivery efficiency to reach customer expectations.

  • Help review purchasing of motor oils and lubricants with Division Manager if needed.

  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.

  • Lift items over 50lbs utilizing assistance tools such as fork lift or dolly.

  • Ability to drive safely – up to 8 hours per day.

    Essential Functions:
  • Assures that office and administrative needs are constantly met.

  • Demonstrates leadership in attitude, morale, appearance, mannerisms and work ethic.

  • Help work/communicate with other employees by training on proficiencies and best-in-class customer service strategies.

  • Works with other department leaders to develop efficient operational procedures and policies and to promote the product and services of all Berico, Gateco, Alamance, and Carolina products and services, with a focus on Motor Oil.

  • Implement and maintain the highest level of customer service and integrity in the industry

  • Ensure Customer Follow up and Satisfaction techniques take place.

  • To work with administrative employees to ensure accurate customer accounts and data entry is maintained.

  • Provides leadership and input to execute sales plan/goals to grow Motor Oil sales and margins.

  • To strive to achieve revenue growth, expense control, and profitability throughout all sales efforts.

  • Set a positive example to employees to prevent, detect, and correct unsafe conditions in the shop or on jobsites or violations of company safety policy.

  • To outline and set sales goals.

  • Ensure proper credit standards/procedures are met by all new customers through communication with Credit Manager.

  • To complete daily sales visit worksheets and report sales activity to Motor Oil Manager.
