Production Worker I

Job Description:

Olmsted Center for Sight (OCS) is seeking part-time and half-time Production Worker I for the Industries department. This position is primarily responsible for performing tasks involved in the direct labor of production, storage, and distribution of materials/products. Under the direction of the Director of Manufacturing, the Production Worker I will serve as a laborer to the work performed in the department.

Essential Functions:

  • Cuts, folds, clips, hooks or otherwise assembles materials to produce sub-assemblies or finished products from raw materials

  • Utilize hand operated tools/equipment/machines to complete production/assembly of finished products (e.g. basic hand tools.)

  • Operation of machinery (e.g. sewing machine, fabric cutter, or filling equipment)

  • Perform basic testing and quality checks on assembled products prior to packaging

  • Label and pack finished goods into correct packages and boxes

  • Place finished goods on designated pallets or area and prepare for shipping

  • Follow appropriate notification procedures

  • Assist with storage and inventory of goods and raw materials in the warehouse

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalency preferred

  • Experience working in manufacturing/line production/machine operation preferred

  • Ability to provide documentation of legal blindness preferred
