Their successful performance will enable the facility to operate at the highest performance level, meeting production goals, and maintaining a safe work environment. This role is a part of a team that strives for safety and health excellence while achieving an injury free workplace.A Day In The Life Typically Includes:Performing routine maintenance (Preventive Maintenance) on electrical and instrumentation equipment throughout the plantPerforming emergency maintenance on failed equipment to ensure minimal production downtimeMaintaining turbine generators and power distribution systems throughout the plantInstalling equipmentMaintaining and troubleshooting PLCs, process controls, electrical, instrument, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipmentAssisting with the shutdown and startup of equipment on shutdown projectsFully complying with and ensuring excellence in all areas of compliance, environmental and safetyWhat Will You Need?Basic Qualifications:Three (3) years or more of experience as a Journeyman Electrical and Instrumentation Technician in an industrial environmentORa two (2) year degree or higher in Industrial Electrical Maintenance or Electrical EngineeringWilling and able to work rotating shiftsWilling and able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime when neededWilling and able to work in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environmentWilling and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to 12 hours a dayMust have a high school diploma or GEDExperience reading blueprintsWorking knowledge of industrial test equipment with troubleshooting and electrical skillsKnowledge of Allen Bradley PLC and variable frequency drivesKnowledge of electrical and other hazards and precautions including safety procedures, NFPA 70 arc flash electrical safety, and OSHA regulationsExperience welding, especially brazing/solderingKnowledge/experience with plant floor automation and office Ethernet, DeviceNet, ControlNET, network wiring and Fiber Optic NetworksExperience diagnosing and repairing various electrical and electronic equipment ranging in voltages from 24VDC to 480 VDCExperience using both DC and AC motors, VF Drives, and Servo Controlled Systems, variable frequency drives (Allen Bradley preferred)What Will Put You Ahead?Preferred Qualifications:Five (5) years or more of experience as an Industrial Electrician/Instrumentation Journeyman TechnicianComputer skills for record-keeping and documentation functionsWant to learn more aboutGeorgia-Pacific?Salary and benefits commensurate with experience.We are an equal opportunity employer.
