Job Description Overview

Ariba, Inc., the leader in Business Commerce, is seeking experienced account managers to advise and support our sellers that transact significant volumes across the Ariba Network. The Seller Account Manager position is responsible for managing and expanding the business relationship with the top seller customers that transact with multiple trading partners on the Ariba Network. This position will be responsible for developing account plans and account growth strategies, managing day-to-day activities with each seller, advising on best practices, selling Marketing sponsorships and programs, liaising on technology and integration issues, and ensuring the sellers are fully educated and trained on Ariba solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with top seller customer accounts on the Ariba Network. Develop relationships with all minds that matter including Sales, Marketing, Finance, IT, eBusiness

  • Develop relationships with new or smaller sellers on the Network who have the potential and desire to grow their presence and embrace the Ariba Network as a sales channel

  • Improve the experience with the Ariba Network through training, best practices, and guidance ultimately increasing Network volumes

  • Guide sellers on best practices for all Ariba solutions

  • Point of contact for strategic sellers; interface between these sellers and the different internal stakeholders

  • Help sellers maximize the Ariba community experience (LIVE, Commerce Summits, etc.)

  • Provide opportunities for peer interaction and collaboration

  • Act as an advocate for sellers by capturing their views, concerns and priorities and communicating them to internal Ariba teams

  • Work on enablement of strategic sellers onto the network

  • Manage sellers commercial arrangements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Charismatic professional with account management experience

  • Proven record of setting, achieving and exceeding account goals

  • Self-motivated; works independently with little or no supervision

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment

  • Ability to effectively communicate the value of eCommerce and Ariba Network technology

  • Strong presentation skills, listening skills, and problem-solving skills

  • Strategic thinker with experience presenting solutions to Director level audiences

Basic Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BSc degree or equivalent experience

  • 5 years experience in Account Management, consulting, or eCommerce

  • Fluent English, other languages appreciated

  • The position requires up to 40% travel
