GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES - The business analyst isresponsible for ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of reports and analyses relating to CommunityNeeds Assessments and/or Physician Investment Analyses.Daily responsibilities also consist ofcommunication and presentation of findingsand recommendations, assistance withdevelopment of physician strategies through preparation ofneedassessments and evaluation ofdata, manpower studies,physician profiling, health utilizationandsupply/demand analysis. The BA shouldbe proficient in using database andspreadsheet programs, Microsoft Office,Business Objects and other business software.
DUTIESINCLUDEBUTARENOTLIMITEDTO: * * 1. Prepares Community NeedsAssessmentsand/orPhysicianInvestment Analyses 2. Utilizes statistical and economicprinciplesand techniques to prepare reports. 3. Gathers, analyzes and summarizes informationregardingcommunity needs and physician investment analyses, newbusiness planning, trended future requirements,government requirements,and operating forecasts. 4. Assists in the development ofthe manpower studies, physician profiling, utilization trending, market supply/demand analyses, MSD plans, and other corporate requirements. 5. Interpretsandappliescorporatepoliciesand government legislation as itpertainsto medicalstaff developmentplans. 6. Educates the client on product usage and interpretation. 7. Practiceandadheretothe"CodeofConduct"Philosophy and "Mission and Value Statement".
KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS&ABILITIES-Thispositionrequiresthefollowing minimum requirements:
LANGUAGE*SKILLS* * * Ability to read, analyze andinterpretcommon scientific and technicaljournals,governmentregulations,andlegaldocuments. Ability to respond to common inquiries orcomplaintsfrom customers andregulatoryagencies. Strong oralandwrittencommunicationskills.Ability to effectively present informationto clients and top management.
MATHEMATICALSKILLS * * Very detailed oriented person with the ability to applyadvancedmathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms,quadratic equations, andpermutations.Ability to apply and understandmathematicaloperations to such tasks asfrequency distribution, data validation,and analysis of variance.
REASONINGABILITY * * Ability to define problems, collectdata, establish facts, and drawvalid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensivevarietyof technical instructions in mathematical ordiagramform and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Proficient level skills in Microsoft OfficeApplications (Access, Excel,Word,PowerPoint and Outlook). Proficient inwriting Business Objects Queries. Experience with mappingsoftware, third partyhealthcaredata sources, AdobePhotoshopandProfessional.Experiencewithhealthcareand project management is aplus.
EDUCATION - Bachelor's Degree.Master'sdegree (MBA) preferred.
EXPERIENCE-Threetofiveyearsrelatedexperience and/or training; orequivalentcombination of education andexperience. Related experience inMedicalStaff Development, StrategicPlanningand design/development of reportingtools is a plus.
