The convenience store retail business is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in the United States and operates approximately 300 convenience stores in central and west Texas and New Mexico.
Job Summary: Reporting to the Director of Economics, the Business Analyst will support Commercial trading & supply teams with the creation, maintenance and distribution of business reporting needs and annual budget. In addition, this role will support trade activity and exposure management through trade deal capture and scheduling functions within the company’s Enterprise Trade Risk Management (ETRM) platform.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting, Business Processes & Presentations (60%)
Support various commercial business lines in generation and distribution of business reporting and KPI tracking
Identify business trends utilizing real data, compile analysis reports and follow up on results
Collaborate cross-functionally with back office and other shared service groups to determine and document user requirements for business reporting
Track and monitor process improvement programs through analyzing and documenting required data and information workflows
Support in the creation and distribution of process improvement deliverables
Support Commercial trading & supply teams with ad hoc reporting, analysis and initiative tracking as needed
Assist with creation of PowerPoint business plans for presentation to business leaders and senior management
Budgeting & Forecasting (20%)
Assist in preparation of annual department budgets, including gross margin, capex and overhead
Monitor and track actual performance against budget for each plan year
Maintain external data services contracts and user management, including annual budgeting and contract negotiations
Assist in facilitating and managing internal transfer pricing process between refinery and commercial business lines
ETRM Management (20%)
Assist traders and schedulers with deal entry, confirmations and movement scheduling and tie out Trader Log vs ETRM entered trades
Validate physical positions generated by scheduling activity
Act as a liaison between front and mid office to ensure accurate position and exposure reporting for various trade desks
LEADERSHIP CAPABILTIIES, CULTURE FIT & IMPACT:
In-depth excel and model build knowledge
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
Ability to manage multiple projects at once
Minimum Required Education:
- Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Minimum Required Experience:
- 2-5 years of business or financial analysis related work
- Energy Industry experience preferred, not required
