Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) is looking for you to join our team as a Principal Linux Systems Administrator/Sr. Principal Linux Systems Administrator based out of Boulder, CO.

What You'll get to Do:

The Systems Administrator primary duties include installing, troubleshooting, updating/patching, and maintenance of virtualized Linux environments, lab assets, & IT infrastructure. Candidate will sustain operational uptime on Red Hat Linux systems and provide daily support for hardware and software issues, data recovery, system upgrades, software upgrades, and configuration issues.

Working with Cyber Associates and using reporting tools like ACAS and SCAP scans, System Administrator will perform security hardening on systems using DoD STIGs and other best practice security guidelines. In the role, the selected candidate will pick up some of the skills for team lead, mentor others, and work with management on schedules, cost analysis, planning and proposals.

This position may be filled at a higher job grade based on the qualifications listed below.

Qualifications:

This position may be filled as either a Principal Linux Systems Administrator or a Sr. Principal Linux Systems Administrator.

Basic Qualifications for a Principal Linux Systems Administrator:

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 + years related experience; 3+ years with a Masters; 0 years with a PhD. An additional 4+ years of related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • Active Top Secret with SCI clearance required to start.

  • Must have Security+ with Continuing Education (CE) or equivalent certification under DoD 8570.01-M

Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal Linux Systems Administrator:

  • Bachelor's degree with 9+ years related experience; 7+ years with a Masters; 3+ years with a PhD. An additional 4+ years of related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • Active Top Secret with SCI clearance required to start.

  • Must have Security+ with Continuing Education (CE) or equivalent certification under DoD 8570.01-M

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience in Virtualization technology (VMWare)

  • Experience as administrator using Ansible, IPA/IDM identity management systems, Linux/Red Hat - Red Hat Satellite, Kickstart, Scripting (Python, Bash)

  • In-depth experience in Operations and Maintenance activities of IT infrastructure

  • Experience with Storage devices (NetApp)

  • Experience working with vendors to expedite installations and repairs to ensure maximum uptime

  • Experience utilizing cybersecurity software applications

  • Experience in working with Agile Project Management

  • Experience with Git or related version control
