University of Colorado Postdoctoral Associate in Boulder, Colorado
National Institute of Standards and Technology, Professional Research Experience Program
Posting Close Date:
This job is to perform research and development with optical-frequency combs and nanophotonics. A successful applicant will develop frequency comb techniques and technology in conjunction with nanofabricated photonics devices. Tasks include: cleanroom device fabrication, characterization, and optimization; carry out laboratory experiments regarding the fundamental physics and nonlinear science of the devices; and perform technology and metrology demonstrations with frequency combs.
Who We Are
The Professional Research Experience Program (PREP) is a special partnership between the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the University of Colorado Boulder (CU Boulder). PREP provides research opportunities to CU undergraduate and graduate students, as well as researchers with a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in NIST labs to gain research experience alongside NIST scientists.
The particular group that needs a researcher is the Optical Frequency Measurements Group in the Time and Frequency Division at NIST.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
This position has several responsibilities: nanophotonics device design and fabrication layout; nanophotonics device fabrication in the NIST-Boulder cleanroom; device testing and characterization; perform experiments with fabricated devices; carry out demonstrations of frequency combs systems.
What We Can Offer
The annual salary range for this position is market-based, highly competitive, and will be based upon relevant background and experience.
