Instructor in Environmental Engineering
The Environmental Engineering (EVEN) Program at the University of Colorado Boulder invites applications for an Instructor faculty position to begin Fall 2020. Depending on qualifications and prior experience, applicants may be considered at either the instructor or senior instructor level. Applications for either a full-time or part-time appointment will be considered. The successful candidate will be expected to teach Environmental Engineering Design: the senior design capstone course and mentor student design teams. In addition, depending on his/her interests, the candidate will teach some of the following courses: Fundamentals of Environmental Engineering, Environmental Engineering Processes, Environmental Sampling/lab, GIS/CAD course modules, Water Chemistry, Water Treatment, Applied Ecology, and Industrial and Hazardous Waste. The expectation is that the instructor will teach and develop curriculum for nominally five courses per year, including both undergraduate and graduate courses. The instructor will also be responsible for advising student groups (e.g., Society of EVEN), student advising, and outreach to professional and alumni constituents.
The position will be rostered in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering (CEAE) and the instructor also will be a member of the faculty of the Environmental Engineering (EVEN) Program. The EVEN Program is one of the largest in the nation, with 22 full-time program faculty, 13 affiliated faculty, more than 240 undergraduate students, and more than 70 graduate students. What We Require
Applicants must hold either a Ph.D. in environmental engineering or a closely related discipline or an M.S. degree in environmental engineering with five or more years of professional experience. Current professional registration or the ability to become a registered professional engineer within two years is required. Additional professional or teaching experience is required for appointment at the senior instructor level.
