As a Data Scientist, you will be a part of our Analytics team. Analytics is a cross functional team that also collaborates with sales, operations, risk management, and engineering. The team leads large ambitious initiatives and develops data-driven frameworks for all business areas. We are crucial to strategic decision-making at CFS and closely interact with our executive team on a regular basis. Our team is growing, and we are looking for smart people who love data and want to make a big impact at a start-up.

Responsibilities

  • Design, create, analyze, and implement various statistical models and reports regarding underwriting, fraud, pricing, collections, marketing, and sales

  • Perform ad-hoc and deep-dive analyses to uncover business insights to drive growth

  • Support, monitor and optimize existing models

  • Monitor and tune existing data science solutions

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative discipline (mathematics, engineering, economics, etc.). Master’s Degree preferred.

  • 3+ years of experience in an analytical role, preferably in the financial services industry- consumer finance or banking. Experience in consumer credit risk is a plus

  • Expertise in SQL, data science programming language (R/ Python) and Excel

  • Solid understanding of statistical concepts and machine learning e.g. hypothesis testing, regression, clustering, etc.

  • Ability to identify trade-offs and limitations of algorithms/models regarding its impact to implementation or reporting

  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, an ability to communicate technical ideas to a variety of audiences

  • Experience using a self-service analytics tools/ model deployment platform like Alteryx
