The Sr. HRIS Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Managing all HRIS DL requests and transactions. Providing technical assistance by responding to inquiries regarding errors, problems, or questions with the system, documenting and following to resolve in a timely manner. Defining and clarifying the internal processes of the automated HRMS system for supervisors, managers, directors, and department administrators. Providing advice as to the appropriate employee transactions to use in order to achieve desired goal while maintaining data integrity and honoring Human Resources policies.

  • Assisting the Sr HRIS Analyst in system interfaces and in the development of system specifications. He/she will be the primary back-up on the BR/Kenexa applicant tracking system.

  • Assisting with automation and upgrades to HRIS under direction of HRIS Manager/ and or Sr HRIS Analyst. Recommending Peoplesoft improvements for increasing HRIS productivity and efficiency in customer service.

  • Reviewing and approving transactions submitted by departments, via the automated HRMS system, for completeness, processes change actions and enter changes into the HR information system.

  • Supporting Employment staff in the entry of new-hire/rehire employee data and associated personnel data into the HRMS system. Insuings the integrity of employee data, from a position management, compensation, and benefits perspective, for positions filled internally. Creating and executing queries.

  • Speaking with HR Systems Development and or ISD to communicate detailed functional information about enhancements to the automated HRMS systems. Testing enhancements programmed by HR Systems Development/ISD.

  • Interacting with Payroll to resolve issues regarding accuracy of employee data as it relates to pay issues.

  • Coordinating and scheduling weekly calls with vendors relating to HRIS projects.

To qualify, you must have:

  • The knowledge and skills typically acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree and three to four years of PeopleSoft experience.

  • The analytical skills to resolve complex problems requiring the use of mathematical or technical principles and in-depth HRMS knowledge.

  • Experience with PeopleSoft HR 9.2 strongly preferred

  • Familiarity with information system capabilities and trends, in particular local area networks and client server technology; as well as a working knowledge of PeopleSoft.

  • The ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, facilitating group information needs and translating those needs into language that Information Services will use to build programs.

  • The ability to train users in how to use the automated HRMS systems.

  • The ability to write a functional job spec for HRIS Projects.
