KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Associate to join ourpractice.
Review penalty abatement request letters and assist in the execution of penalty abatement services in state and federal penalty cases
Assist with the provision of IRS audits and appeals representations, which includes: responding to information document requests, notices of proposed adjustments, and 30-day letters
Support implementing risk management systems to help clients comply with the reportable transaction rules of the IRS and other rules that govern activity in clients' tax functions
Assist in the delivery of other tax services provided by the Tax Controversy Services (TCS) group (such as IRS Fast Track settlement and other alternative dispute resolution services)
Research and recommend resolution of moderate to complex tax issues
Support the development of risk assessments and help implement appropriate tax procedures while developing, motivating, and training staff-level team members
A minimum of two years of tax experience performing tax research, providing technical advice on tax issues, and performing federal and/or state tax consulting
Bachelor's degree plus J.D., LL.M. in taxation, and/or Masters in Taxation (MST) from an accredited college/university
Experience working for or dealing with the IRS
Excellent research and writing skills
