Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Research Fellow in Boston, Massachusetts

Combining extremely talented people with the best technologies in a genuinely positive environment, we provide compassionate and comprehensive care to patients of all ages; we conduct research that advances treatment; we educate tomorrow's physician/researchers; we reach out to underserved members of our community; and we work with amazing partners, including other Harvard Medical School-affiliated hospitals.

The Oser Laboratory in the Division of Molecular and Cellular Oncology and the Department of Medical Oncology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Harvard Medical School focuses on identifying new therapeutic targets in small cell lung cancer.

Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) is a highly aggressive neuroendocrine cancer that is driven by loss of function mutations in the tumor suppressor genes RB1, TP53, and NOTCH. Our lab utilizes several approaches including Cas9/CRISPR-based screening and developing genetically-engineered mouse models of SCLC using Cas9/CRISPR to identify unique vulnerabilities in SCLC that result from loss of RB1 and NOTCH. We also aim to elucidate mechanisms that promote neuroendocrine differentiation in SCLC.

Dr. Oser is seeking a highly motivated and qualified postdoctoral candidate interested in pursuing several projects aimed at identifying new therapeutic targets for SCLC.

The position will require a core foundation of molecular and cellular biology, tissue culture, and some basic training in mouse modeling and epigenetics.

The successful candidate will be expected to lead and develop several independent projects.

The candidate must have a MD, PhD or MD/PhD with several years of relevant experience in molecular biology with some research experience in cancer biology.
