Description

The Director, Digital Marketing is responsible for managing a team of Digital Marketing Managers accountable for defining digital product strategy, engagement, and best in class customer experiences. The incumbent oversees the execution of operating plans for specified area of responsibility and sets the financial, operational and quality objectives for the unit or product line and develops master operational plans.

RESPONSIBILITY STATEMENTS:

  • Establishes strong working relationships with business partners including Business Lines, Technology, Marketing Technology and Data Sciences as well as other constituents across the organization in order to provide thought leadership and gain consensus amongst colleagues, stakeholders and top executives.

  • Provides timely and consistent communication of brand activity and key information to internal business partners.

  • Owns continuous evolution of marketing technology usage for improved audience targeting and measurement, and to provide improved marketing efficiencies and effectiveness

  • Directs managers accountable for daily operations of the eCommerce operation, such as content and product development, engineering, and/or editorial content and relies on some key centralized resources such as sales, marketing, finance and administration.

  • Manages team of Digital Marketing Managers accountable for defining digital product strategy, engagement, and best in class customer experiences.

  • Conducts channel/product gap analysis, competitive research and industry evaluations to extract actionable insights to inform the digital strategy and determine the long-term digital roadmap.

  • Makes recommendations for the formulation of the strategies and operating plans of the specified area of responsibility, then, based on prevailing conditions executes or adjusts the operating plans of the business unit directed.

  • Sets financial, operational and quality objectives for the unit or product line and develops master operational plans.

  • Oversees the execution of operating plans for specified area of responsibility.

  • Encourages progressive thinking and the pushing of boundaries.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Marketing, Business, Communications, Web/Graphic Design or equivalent field or equivalent work experience

  • Master's Degree Marketing, Business, Communications, Web/Graphic Design or equivalent field

  • 9-12 years of Digital Marketing experience, preferably in Financial Services and/or Banking industry

  • Experience leading, managing and developing teams of digital marketing professionals

  • Strong understanding and demonstration of user-centered design principles and experience using the Design Thinking framework and other human-centered design techniques, including persona development and journey-mapping.

  • Seasoned strategist and creative leader who is able to drive digital strategy, creative, delivery, and real-time/ongoing optimization.

  • A deep understanding of user-centered design and product development processes and demonstrated experience using these.

  • Proven track record working across all digital channels (Web, Content, Social, Search, Video, Streaming, Display) to drive a seamless, omni-channel client experience.

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience leading and/or managing display, SEM, retargeting, lead generation and paid social campaigns.

  • Comfortable presenting ideas to stakeholder groups and leadership with strong written and presentation skills.

  • Passionate and knowledgeable about optimized design, personalization and user experience.

  • Ability to interact skillfully with executive management and a variety of business partners.

  • Ability to manage cross functional projects and multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Strong financial and business analysis skills.

  • Strong technical acumen with web, mobile, and conversational channel knowledge required.

  • Ability to synthesize analytical results and tailor executive briefings - including the Chief Executive Office, the Board, and other operating senior executives.

  • Proven track record for developing cross channel marketing plans that meet/exceed business objectives.

  • Ability to lead, coach, inspire and motivate a team to create and deliver truly remarkable, influential and impactful work.
