Wornick Foods is a leading supplier of convenience foods and military rations including the U.S. government and other large Consumer Product Goods companies.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reports to the corresponding team leader and assembles components for the packaging of meals or accessory products for production.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIRED
A) Obey GMP’s and PPE’s for production areas.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A) Verify correct product names, codes, and dates are used; then placed on current menu.
B) To prevent defects the employee will assist in the on-line visual inspection.
C) Inspect for leaks and broken packages.
D) Prior to assembly, ensure all components of the accessory packs are accounted for.
Assembling of product
A) Must be able to maintain line speeds with repetitive gripping, grabbing and placing of items into bags, boxes, etc.
B) Stack all items and insert on menu bag using the correct order.
C) Ensure all menu items, accessories, and components are assembled according to menu specifications.
D) Prepare menu bags for sealing and boxing.
A) Receive menu bags to inspect for correct placing of products and components.
B) Verify correct menu bag to make sure proper codes and dates are being used.
C) Placed bags through sealing machine.
D) Inspect proper sealing, looking for defects on the seals.
Package of Assembled Product
A) Receive assembled and sealed menu bags then place them in proper container.
B) Inspect seal on bagging and product. Looking for breaks, leaks, or other defects.
C) Insert correct menu bags in container, and move container to final assembly.
D) Assist QA, MPC and Final Assembly with delivery of items to be inspected.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
To perform this job assignment an individual must meet the required job specific training located in the Training Register.
Must be able to read, communicate and comprehend English.
Employee must have the ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide by multiples of 10’s and 100’s. Person must be able to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurements, volume and distance.
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions. Ability to deal with standardizes situations with only occasional or no variables.
OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES
Must be able to recognize colors, shapes, and textures. Must be able to perform repetitive placement of products onto a conveyor belt. Employees must be able to work in a fast environment and still follow all safety policies and procedures.

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, bend and use hands to finger, handle and feel objects and controls, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear, taste and smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, ability to adjust focus and color vision. As an assembler the employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 5 lbs.
The employee will work near moving mechanical parts and can be regularly exposed to extreme hot or cold. The employee is constantly exposed to vibrations. The employee is also exposed to fumes, or airborne particles. The work environment can be noisy and/ or loud. Some personal protective equipment may be mandatory depending on location
