MGM Resorts International Food Server, In Room Dining - Part Time - Day/Swing Shift (Beau Rivage) in Biloxi, Mississippi
Provide high quality food and beverage service to guests, while maintaining assigned floors, and side work in clean, sanitary condition. Work in conjunction with all other IRD department members to ensure outstanding guest service is constantly achieved. Follow all Beau Rivage and Departmental policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND TASKS
Provides prompt, friendly, courteous and cheerful service to all food and beverage guests, while anticipating guest needs.
Delivers/Serves food & beverages, amenities and guest requested F&B and/or non F&B related items to guests, as well as attend VIP check-In area.
Verifies age of any guest who looks under the age of thirty and alerts management immediately if any guest appears to be intoxicated.
Monitors accuracy of order to ensure all additional items (beverages, food etc.) are being charged properly under the POS system.
Picks up and returns dirty dishes, glassware, utensils, tables and trays to the dish room from the guest rooms, hotel tower, and outlet.
Cleans and sanitizes tables and trays completely and resets tables with clean tablecloth, silverware sets and napkins and any additional tabletop set up items needed, sets up trays with tray mats silverware sets and napkins and any additional tray set up items needed
Ensure that tables are properly set, side stations are clean, and all side work is properly done
Maintain proper sanitary and safety practices and cleanliness of the entire areas - including the floors, tables, counters, coolers, etc.
Stock items from the dishroom and loading dock(chinaware, glasses, beverage pots, silverware, mugs, linen, etc.) –
Able to render outstanding guest service at all times and thank all guests and use guest surname.
Offers additional service to ensure a satisfactory guest experience
Assists with initial guest complaints and informs manager on duty immediately
Maintains complete familiarity with all IRD special / holiday menu items and excellent knowledge of all menu items and plating standards
Follows all uniform and appearance standards
Able to remain in control during high volume situations while working in a well, organized manner and maintaining a strong sense of urgency.
Retrieve and restock on the spot orders from warehouse and ensure FIFO practices are followed.
Ensure proper maintenance of the complimentary food and beverage service in VIP Check-In and the cleanliness and stocking of the lounge area. Transportation of food and beverages and coordination of ordering of all items needed
Report any inventory outages and equipment malfunctions to management immediately
Performs other duties as required or assigned by Management
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE :
High School Diploma or equivalent and one year serving experience in a fast paced, high volume restaurant operations or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Must be 18 years of age or older to serve alcohol.
Previous Food and Beverage experience
Must be knowledgeable and informative of all casino events and promotions
Must be capable of following directions
Must possess good recall and memory
Must be able to speak, read and write English
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently standing, walking, listening, balancing, reading and speaking.
Frequently walking distances of 10 to 30 ft., between various areas of restaurant. Frequently walking distances up to 500 ft. and briskly for several hours at a time over long distances
Frequently using wrist motion, dexterity, and eye-hand coordination, reaching, twisting and balancing.
Frequently carrying up to 50 lbs, pulling and pushing up to 200lbs.
Work performed indoors and outdoors with occasional hot and cold temperature changes. Employee will be required to stand on concrete or decking floors, tiles/mats and walk on uneven or wet surfaces. Employee may be exposed to secondhand smoke and kitchen odors. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Due to high volume employee should have the ability to work under high stress situations and able to multitask.
Regular scheduled hours. Must be flexible if needed for occasional work outside of normal business hours.
