POSITION SUMMARY:
To assist in the management of the entire restaurant operation. Responsible for upholding Beau Rivage service and appearance standards, policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND TASKS:
Supervise, train, and counsel employees within designated dining facility when necessary
Maintains performance records, and payroll time log sheets
Assists Restaurant Manager in reviewing all expenses
Recommends menu changes and price changes to provide the hotel with a profit
Ensures that all restaurant policies and procedures are followed in order to provide outstanding service to all guests
Maintains records of employee’s performance and dining room food and labor costs
Counsels employees within department with respect to personal or scheduling problems
Assists the Restaurant Manager in reviewing expenditures versus revenues as it relates to designated restaurant.
Develops systems for employee feedback, incentive programs, and participation in restaurant decisions
Schedules and conducts daily food service pre-shift meetings in order to update and ensure correct execution of restaurant policies and procedures
Develops strategies for increasing sales and profitability within management scope
Develops marketing plans to obtain long and short-term goals
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Ensures a quality guest experience by touching every table
Handles guest complaints and ensures all guest needs/special requests are met
Trains all employees on steps of service and sequence of service and holds them accountable to the standards
Ensures necessary tools are provided for the staff as needed
Communicates via e-mail in a professional manner and follows all computer use guidelines
Practices all necessary sanitation methods to ensure food safety standards are followed
Implements any new policies and procedures
Communicates with chef regarding any food related problems, concerns, etc.
Assists in achieving all service, financial, and human resource goals set forth by the VP of Food and Beverages
Any other job-related duties as required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE :
Required
Associate degree in restaurant management, business or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
Five (5) years high volume restaurant supervisory or management experience
Effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms
Preferred
- Previous experience working in a similar resort setting
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
High volume restaurant management or supervisory experience required
Must possess basic computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook and Access
Must be capable of following directions
Must possess good recall and memory
Must be able to speak, read and write English
PHYSICAL DEMAND:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently standing, walking, listening, balancing, reading and speaking.
Frequently walking distances of 10 to 30 ft., between various areas of restaurant. Frequently walking distances up to 500 ft.
Frequently using wrist motion, dexterity, and eye-hand coordination, reaching, twisting, stooping and balancing, smelling and tasting.
Frequently carrying up to 35 lbs. Occasionally pushing or pulling up to 100 lbs.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work performed indoors and outdoors with occasional hot and cold temperature changes. Employee will be required to stand on concrete or decking floors, tiles/mats and walk on uneven or wet surfaces. Employee may be exposed to secondhand smoke and kitchen odors. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. WORK SCHEDULE/HOURS:
Regular scheduled hours. Must be flexible if needed for occasional work outside of normal business hours.
