Join our team and help us keep communities connected.Stantec's Transportation group has an immediate need for a Senior Project Manager, Rail to join our Transportation team in Bellevue, WA.Your Key ResponsibilitiesThe candidate will serve as part of the leadership team for the Freight Rail Group within Transportation and will report primarily to the Rail Sector Leader and secondarily to local Regional Leadership. The candidate will be a recognized leader in the area of freight rail and will possess knowledge and communication skills to help build the Freight Rail Group. The candidate will also be considered an authority with respect to Freight Rail projects and how to overcome the challenges related to winning, managing and executing freight rail projects. The candidate will also need to be able to produce technical documents to meet the needs of the project. While the candidate's initial focus will be on opportunities in US West , broader responsibilities will be considered based on current business opportunities, candidate's performance and desires.A. STRATEGIC RESPONSIBILITIES (5%Time Commitment)Within Stantec's overall TransportationPractice area, strategic level responsibilities include:* Provideinput to the Freight Rail and Transit / Rail Sector Leaders inidentifying and following through on key hires, acquisitions, majorproject and cross-regional pursuits including national client accounts.* Assistwith the development of the annual business plan for the Freight Rail andTransit Group.* Identifyand develop existing and future leadership candidates and careerdevelopment opportunities for staff within the Freight Rail group.* Encouragecooperation, sharing of skills and workload between Freight Rail /Transit projects and the balance of the Transportation staff located invarious Transportation business centers across the company and in othersectors, where considered appropriate.A. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENTRESPONSIBILITIES (20% Time Commitment)A major responsibility of this role is assisting in the identifying and winning freight rail projects across North America with a particular emphasis on projects in Western Canada. Recognizing the status of the freight rail group, time commitments are considered only in terms of broad ranges and subject to revision as the Freight Rail group evolves.* GeneralFreight Rail Group Promotion (5% Time Commitment)Responsibilities will be undertaken in collaboration with the local leadership and others in Transportation and include:* IncreaseStantec's industry profile through regular interaction with potentialclients and other consultants as well as participation in industryorganizations, such as AREMA, and other relevant regional organizations.* Identifyand track potential projects / teaming opportunities includingDesign/Build and P3 through client liaisons.* ProjectSpecific Business Development (15% Time Commitment)* Developmentof project pursuit teams to be led by Stantec* Secureposition on other project teams to provide Freight Rail support* Proposalwriting including managing the proposal preparation process and fee /schedule negotiationsA.
