Team/Function Overview

Compliance Technology is building a sophisticated next generation surveillance solution on top of a distributed data platform. The Belfast team is the global centre for the creation of feature-based surveillance algorithms using cutting edge technologies and techniques.

The volume and variety of data involved in these surveillances and the complexity of the algorithms results in one of most challenging and appropriate use cases for big data technologies.

Role / Position Overview

To aid in the growth of the team we are looking to bring in a Scrum Master to help to coordinate and project lead the build of next generation surveillances using cutting edge behavioral-based techniques. This is a significant opportunity for an experienced Scrum Master with experience in modern data platforms to move into a role with responsibility for ensuring the technology group deliver quality results, collaborating closely with development teams, data scientists and global clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Scrum Master for multiple parallel development efforts within the Markets Trade Surveillance group

• Organise, coordinate and document the work across the various technology teams

• Recognise and implement improvements to processes and communicate them across the group

• Create, maintain and groom the JIRA queue for assigned teams

• Create schedules, plans and other artifacts related to your assigned projects

• Track project milestones and deliverables

• Partner with Compliance, BA’s, project managers, data scientists, testers and support teams to meet delivery targets

• Promote best practice across the lifecycle to ensure quality in delivery

• Mentoring and coaching more junior members of the team

• Assisting with the provision of task breakdown and estimates

• Quickly becoming knowledgeable in Capital Markets, Trading, and Fraud Detection.

Development Value:

• Hands-on Scrum Master and project lead experience on a production implementation of Hadoop with massive data volumes

Qualifications

Knowledge/Experience:

• Confident, with an authoritative knowledge of Scrum Master duties and agile practices

• Experience in understanding business requirements and turning them into plans

• Demonstrated willingness to both teach others and learn new techniques

• Capable of directing developers across multiple parallel deliveries

• Logical thinker with good problem solving abilities and attention to detail

• Familiar with the financial services industry and/or regulatory environments

Qualifications:

A strong degree in any mathematical subject including physics, mathematics, engineering or computer science
