Pace Analytical Services, LLC, a leading national analytical laboratory is seeking highly motivated candidates for a Laboratory Technician - Volatiles at their laboratory in Beaver, WV.

  • Responsible for keeping applicable workspaces clean and safe.

  • Disposing of samples and chemicals.

  • Waste handling duties.

  • Attending company and department meetings.

  • Providing maintenance of stock reagents and lab supplies.

  • Completing required training activities within required timeframes.

  • Foster cooperation and teamwork among staff.

  • Following company policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Education and/or Experience – High School diploma required. No prior experience or training.

  • Physical Demands – Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee is typically required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).

  • Work Environment – While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts (instrumentation). The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

  • Language Skills – Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

  • Mathematical Skills – Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

  • Reasoning Ability – Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

  • Computer Skills – Proficient use of Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office products especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint, and the ability to multi task between products.
