Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System Maintenance Mechanic 2 Our Lady of the Lake in Baton Rouge, Louisiana

The Mechanic II, who reports to the Maintenance Supervisor, maintains, repairs, and replaces various hospital equipment, operates standby equipment in case of plant systems failure, repairs mechanical failures in the fire alarm system, repairs food preparation equipment, and maintains and repairs the hospital air conditioning system in an effort to ensure patient, visitor, and employee comfort. The Mechanic II repairs various electrical equipment, performs basic plumbing repairs, maintains required maintenance records and information, attends meetings, participates on committees, and if a Locksmith, installs locks and door hardware, cuts keys, rekey locks, and performs evening fire door checks in an effort toward promoting a safe and reliable environment for the provision of quality health care services.

Education High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience 1 year in building or hospital maintenance

Required Certification/Registration Valid Louisiana driver's license

Working Conditions Exposed to hazards from electrical/mechanical/power equipment Works in precarious or high locations (ladders, scaffolding etc.)
