Role Summary:Responsibility for supporting and maintaining multiple user and customer-facing applications and related data processing platforms and services. The Applications Operations Leader role owns the overall support process and activities for multiple user and customer facing applications. Owns and is accountable for Application and platform SLA’s against operational commitments, effectively balancing different, challenging objectives.
Essential Responsibilities:Be responsible for leading operations for large portfolio of service applications critical to business
Drive DEV OPs practices and lead CD CI pipeline Lean to allocate/distribute work to others.
Track metrics and hold the vendor teams accountable to ensure that secure and quality software is developed prior to Production deployment.
Ensure that all critical application services are monitored, alerts are configured and the performance & availability remains close to 100%.
Dedicatedly identify opportunities for automation, streamline processes or operations through effective application of digital technology.
Establish strong operating rhythms and SLAs to measure and communicate critical operational and project metrics.
Owns and/or shares accountability for ensuring compliance with all application policies including HPA, security and code reviews across all applications and platforms within scope. Leads application monitoring and P&A reporting demonstrating a consistent tool and approach across multiple applications. Leads complex, multi-disciplinary teams in resolution of high profile outages/application incidents demonstrating contingent worker support team, internal supporting organizations and Application Operations coworkers when appropriate. Leads and is accountable for pertinent contingent workers access and work prioritization. Dedicatedly finds and removes obstacles or barriers on behalf of the team. Demonstrates mastery of the intricacies of interactions and dynamics in Agile teams. Uses disciplined approaches to monitor application platform and service progress via effective information dashboards for operational metrics, defect, quality, change control, and compliance. Uses data, practical knowledge and creative insights to drive timely decisions, determine appropriate courses of action, and forecast future needs while leading risk and uncertainty for the team. Beyond driving day-to-day operational tempos and rigor, contributes to strategic business rhythms including Application Architecture and Roadmaps for the coming year. Creates a culture of customer focus and high performance to drive innovation through continuous customer engagement to facilitate appropriate application upgrades and enhancements. Navigates through ambiguity, prioritizes conflicting asks and shows ability to adapt to changing priorities. Demonstrates skills in collaborating with different partners, influencing decisions and an ability to take strategic view.
Qualifications/Requirements:Four year Bachelors degree in any STEM major
6+ years of experience with at least 3+ years of experience in operations
Working knowledge of DEV OPS and CI CD pipeline
Working knowledge of application servers, database, Unix/Linux
Extensive experience in solving challenging issues in high pressure environment
Understanding of ITIL
