Candidates for the January 8th, 2018 cohort Clinical Nurse Extern (Nursing Student) position must maintain an active CNA certification in the state of MD. Current enrollment in an accredited school of nursing and completion or current enrollment in a Fundamentals in Nursing course is required. Bachelor's degree students are preferred but Associate's degree students are encouraged to apply. Candidates must not graduate before August 2018. If chosen to move forward with the interview process, the candidate will be invited and required to attend one of the 3 Open Houses offered.
The Clinical Nurse Extern is able to experience:
• Performing delegated functions assigned by Registered Nurses.
• Effectively executing activities required in daily practice as defined by each clinical department.
• Caring for patients and families in a world renowned medical institution.
• Participating and promoting Johns Hopkins Hospital departmental and hospital safety standards.
• Established working relationships within a multidisciplinary health care system.
