The Department of Neurology within the University of Maryland School of Medicine and the University of Maryland Medical Center is seeking early to mid-level MD or MD/PhD neurology clinicians with expertise in translational neuro-oncology. Expected rank is Assistant/Associate Professor, non-tenure track. Specifically, we are looking for clinicians with expertise in clinical trial design, operation and implementation with experience interpreting clinical trial data using bioinformatics. The position will be maintained in the Department of Neurology and the expectation is that this faculty member will work closely with the University of Maryland Medical Cancer Center and Department of Neurosurgery. The faculty member will be responsible for medical management of individuals with primary and metastatic brain tumors at the University of Maryland Medical Center including diagnosis, evaluation, chemotherapeutics, pre-surgical evaluation and ongoing follow-up and will interface with Radiation Oncology and Neurosurgery programs. It will be expected that this individual will either design clinical trials or recruit subjects into industry-sponsored clinical trials for brain tumor therapy. Participation in resident and medical student education will be expected. Applicants should be ABPN Board certified and completed recognized neuro-oncology fellowship training.
