The Arc Baltimore Day Employment Support Specialist II in Baltimore, Maryland
APPLY NOW to be scheduled for our upcoming Interview Event. We have several open positions at our Dundalk Day Center located on 1401 North Point Road, Baltimore, MD 21222-1524. The work schedule is Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm.
To provide a range of services including group work, individual behavioral intervention, staff augmentation and training.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure that individual rights and dignity are respected and that the agency policy on normalization and the behavior management policies are actively supported.
Implement sufficient, appropriate and relevant training programs and maintaining required data for assigned individual based on objectives developed by team members. Formulate written training programs, as appropriate, with the Employment Support Associate and Psychologist.
Complete monthly review process for individual training programs and other relevant individual records or reports.
Provide individual behavioral services as assigned including providing transportation and support services as required.
Provide staff augmentation and/or staff training as assigned.
Function as agency contact with employer, providing information about employing people with developmental disabilities.
Develop adaptive work methods as necessary to modification, task analysis and actual hand on hand job training.
Initiate and maintain regular, positive and proactive communication with individual’s Employment Support Associate and other persons personally and professionally connected to the individual’s case progress.
Serve as a member of the multi-disciplinary team responsible for developing individual plans.
Assist individuals with personal care activities such as toileting, feeding, showering, etc.
Conduct routine assessments, evaluations and reviews on individual participants as required by program guidelines.
Under direction of the RN, conduct individualized exercise programs.
Perform nursing functions as delegated by the RN.
Attend required staff meetings, in-service training and individual planning meeting.
On a daily basis, drive agency or personal vehicle, as appropriate, to transport persons supported by the Arc Baltimore to employment and educational/enrichment activities as well as transportation to and from the person’s residence, if required.
Drive agency or personal vehicle, as appropriate, for agency related business.
Occasionally fills in on work sites.
Complete all agency required trainings for position.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education and Experience:
Associates Degree preferred. High School Diploma/GED required.
Three (3) or more years experience working with adults with developmental disabilities may be substituted for required education. Nursing Certificate desirable.
Outstanding organizational and time management skills necessary.
Must be independent and self-directed.
Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Position requires frequent standing and walking.
Driving and transporting persons receiving services is a significant portion of this position.
Must be able to work flexible hours as required to train and support individuals. This may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
