University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) is currently seeking a Contract and Grants Coordinator to join School of Medicine, Division of Surgery Administration.This entry-level professional position resides in the Department of Surgery Research Administration. The position will coordinate and administer contracts and grants from proposal submission through Sponsored Programs Administration (SPA) and award administration and closeout.

Assemble proposal documentation and enter proposal information into Kauli Research (KR). Ensuring proposal compliance with Institutional Review Board, IACUC, FDA, and granting agencies.
With training, reviews program announcements to decide what documentation is require for the proposal package and work with Principle Investigators (PI) to gather administrative documents.
Work with Sr. Contracts and Grants Specialist to gather necessary documents from sub-recipients to prepare a request for sub-awards from SPA.
Reviews award set up by Sponsored Projects Accounting and Compliance (SPAC) in the UMB financial system for accuracy. Update internal systems for new accounting information.
Post award responsibilities assisting accountants to distribute monthly financial accountant to PI.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:Bachelors business or public administration or another appropriate field.
Experience:Two (2) years of experience at an institution of higher education, preferable working with sponsored awards.
Hiring Range:Low $50K - Commensurate with education and experience
