HCA, Hospital Corporation of America Vascular Technologist (Cardiovascular Outpatient) Part-time Days in Austin, Texas

Located in central Austin, St. David’s Medical Center includes a 350-bed acute care hospital and a 64- bed rehabilitation hospital providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care. It is home to the internationally renowned Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute and St. David’s Neuroscience & Spine Institute . The hospital provides a complete range of women’s services, including its acclaimed maternity unit, maternal-fetal medicine, a high-risk maternal and neonatal transport team, the region’s largest and most sophisticated Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and The Breast Center ; complex surgical services; a comprehensive Bariatric Surgery Center ; and a 24-hour emergency department.

POSITION SUMMARY: According to unit and hospital policies and procedures, the Cardiology Sonographer I is responsible for the performance of non-invasive and invasive vascular procedures including but not limited to carotid, venous, renal, and arterial doppler procedures including venous ablation and sclerotherapy. This position works closely with other healthcare team members to facilitate exceptional patient care and efficient completion of diagnostic studies and procedures while also promoting optimal unit operations. The Sonographer I adheres to the customer service standards while maintaining a clean, efficient, and safe work environment.

Education: Required: Approved ultrasound technology education program or ARDMS recommended relevant work experience.
Preferred: Successful completion of an accreditied vascular technology program.

Experience: Required: Six months experience performing vascular procedures.Clinical preceptorship time may qualify for this requirement. Preferred: One year hospital experience performing the following vascular procedures: carotid, venous, arterial Doppler. Proficiency in performing transcranial Doppler studies.


Required: BLS (CPR) certification; Registered with ARDMS or CCI in Vascular Ultrasound Preferred: Experience with Venous Insufficiency evaluation and intervention
