Cadence Design Systems, Inc. Sr Principal Solutions Engineer - AE in Austin, Texas

Responsibilities

  • Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers.

  • Responsibilities encompass all phases of product development, including requirements development, concept design, detailed design, fabrication, integration, documentation release, and maintenance/support.

  • Analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions;

  • Works with customer designated compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.

  • Ensures system software/firmware standards are met.

  • Throughout product lifecycle development, work closely with systems engineers, hardware design engineers, software engineers, and customers, troubleshooting and correcting root causes of various system level issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering

  • 10+ years applicable experience

  • The ideal candidate is a self-driven problem solver.

  • Analytical, highly adaptable individual with extensive experience developing software solutions and integrating innovative new features.

  • Track record of successfully identifying and visualizing existing and potential issues and communicating effectively via verbal or written instruction.

  • An advanced leader and staff mentor, capable of scheduling and directing teams across multiple locations while simultaneously working on numerous projects with minimal support or supervision.

Additional Skills

  • Working with secure boot SOCs that use encryption to verify, via a trusted boot model the entire software stack from boot code through application(s).

  • Bootloader development

  • Developing code bases for better sharing of common code across projects.

  • Setup kernel build environment for testing APIs deliverable libraries.

  • Responsible for initial debug/bring-up of new platforms
