Summary

Balfour Beatty Construction in Austin, Texas is seeking a Project Accountant for our Special Projects Group. The Project Accountant role primarily handles cost accounting (AP/AR) responsibilities in the Special Projects Group from start up through final closeout. Serves as the liaison between the job site and the finance department, ensuring all accounting standard operating procedures are followed at the job site. Performs activities related to contracts, bonds, insurance, payables, liens, billings, payroll/cost/budget reports for the job site management team.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • 1 year or more of book-keeping, accounting, or accounts payable-receivables experience.

  • Proficiency in basic accounting principles.

  • Proficient using a personal computer (PC) and company communication tools, such as email, the internet, and Microsoft products (e.g., Word, Excel, Office, Outlook).

Preferred Experience

  • Associates or Bachelors Degree in Accounting.

  • A/E/C accounting industry experience, very helpful.

  • Textura experience helpful, but, not required.

  • 2 years or more of book-keeping, accounting, or accounts payable-receivables experience.

  • Local qualified candidate preferred, but not required.
