Facebook Infrastructure Accounting Manager - Lease and Facilities in Austin, Texas

Summary:

Facebook is looking for an Accounting Manager to join the Infrastructure Accounting Team in our Austin, Texas office. You are proficient in US GAAP accounting and reporting with demonstrated track record of continuously learning new and or changes to accounting standards. You will work with cross-functional teams providing guidance and making decisions as well as being able to perform detailed analysis while managing a significant portion of Facebook’s asset investments on our balance sheet.

Required Skills:

  1. Own the month end close, reconciliations, sub-ledger reviews, result analytics, internal and external reporting deliverables related to leases and facilities.

  2. Assist in leading team responsible for managing operational accounting for the company’s global lease portfolio and facility investments.

  3. Coordinate the compilation and review of quarterly and annual financial statements and footnotes deliverables related to subject area.

  4. Coordinate with international statutory accounting and tax teams to supply required transaction data for statutory and local tax filing needs.

  5. Coordinate with external and internal auditors to ensure timely completion of audit requests, and aid in the research and analysis of audit issues raised.

  6. Stay up to date on SOX controls and assessments of those controls as well as audits performed by business partners, internal auditors and external auditors.

  7. Research accounting guidance and implications of lease and facilities’ transactions or changes in the subject areas, reach conclusions with adequate level of rationale and documentation for review and communicate and present the accounting conclusions to the team.

  8. Prepare accounting memos and update accounting policies in the subject areas.

  9. Develop and maintain strong relationships with business partners to understand the broader business objectives, develop processes jointly and provide accounting guidance and best practice recommendations to enable process changes.

  10. Work in close coordination with other key Finance organization partners in treasury, FP&A, internal audit, technical accounting and finance operations to optimize for common team goals including compliance with the U.S. GAAP and internal policies through effective communications and globally coordinated execution.

  11. Provide mentorship, coaching and guidance to team.

  12. Lead special projects and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  2. 8+ years of financial statements auditing, financial accounting or similar experience

  3. Experience with operational accounting, compliance, internal controls over financial reporting, 10Q/K disclosure

  4. Experience analyzing large data sets

  5. Experience in optimizing or re-designing existing processes resulting from business needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. CPA

  2. Public Accounting experience

  3. Experience with ASC842 Lease Accounting Standard

  4. Experience with IFRS and supporting international statutory teams

  5. Experience managing a team

  6. Experience with Oracle Financials and Hyperion

  7. Experience in the Real Estate industry, e.g. construction and property leasing

  8. Telecommunications industry exposure, e.g. fiber optic network, colocation, peering arrangement
