Retirement Business Services (RBS), a division within Advisor Services, provides trust, custody, trading, and technical services through the Business Trust Division of Charles Schwab Bank. Cash Operations’ goal is to meet the needs of RBS by providing superior client service as it relates to the processing of incoming and outgoing cash activity and all associated regulatory reporting. Specifically, the Cash Management Team is responsible for all incoming and outgoing cash activities related to the plan sponsor plans supported by Charles Schwab Bank's Business Trust division. We also manage relationships with internal business partners, maintain and test various internal and vendor-supplied systems, and ensure absolute compliance with all governing regulations and requirements. Our primary objective is to successfully process significant cash activity for RBS, in accordance with client directives, while maintaining proper controls to mitigate risk to the firm.
What you’ll do:
The Team Manager has a strong understanding of the retirement market and manages the ongoing day to day activities for the Retirement Business Services Cash Management team. Engage employees directly through team management and one on one interaction. Responsible for all aspects of incoming cash activities with an emphasis on controls, risk mitigation, and streamline processes that meet the objectives of the enterprise. The position will work with simple to complex issues and will be responsible to make decisions related to process that require analysis of multiple methods and techniques to drive expected and improved results. Ability to engage employees and motivate directionally to influence superior client service model for internal and external customers.
This is a very fast paced, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven position.
As a Team Manager, you are expected to contribute in a collaborative, team environment as you coordinate and oversee the completion of all daily outgoing cash functions within carefully defined procedures. Additionally, you will be leading and participating in projects of varying size and scope that serve to advance our systems and processes. CEBS, NIPA or ASPPA credentials preferred, but not required.
Team Lead responsibilities include:
Leading the team to successfully meet and exceed SLA’s each day and providing oversight of the team’s daily deliverables
Monitoring, prioritizing and assigning tasks from within the functional mailbox workflow system
Fostering a positive and cohesive work environment that promotes employee engagement
Taking initiative to research and respond to higher-level, more complex inquiries from Client Services and other business units
Having flexibility with regards to impromptu changes in priorities
Being a knowledge resource for the team as well as various internal business partners
Performing supervisory level reviews/approvals
Designing, implementing and maintaining quality control as well as initiating process improvements

Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications including but not limited to Excel, Outlook, Access and Word
People manager experience preferred
College degree or equivalent
