Summary:

Facebook is seeking a leader to lead the Data Management team within the Business Planning & Operations (BP&O) organization. The Data Management team is responsible for supporting all data strategy and data governance related aspects of Facebook’s business systems. This role will entail working directly with stakeholders and business leaders to help execute on the data strategy. This individual will have direct responsibility in leading in developing and executing a plan for rolling out the master data management and data governance. This person must also ensure that the functionality and data meet the needs of the business.

In addition to the strategic level of work, this individual will be responsible to collaborate with a wide breadth of cross-functional partners with evaluating, planning, executing and owning a diverse set of workflows and services all focused on improving the fidelity of the Facebook business graph.

This position can be located in Menlo Park, CA, Austin, TX, or New York, NY.

Required Skills:

  1. Responsible for partnering with the Operational Data Governance to continue to build strong data governance practices

  2. Work to improve processes for management of quality data, and defining data quality audit procedures

  3. Act as the business lead on a number of projects related to the Enterprise Data Management programs to capture business requirements and validate those requirements are met by the completion of each project

  4. Develop a strong understanding of business processes and business objectives and help formulate data strategy accordingly and build consensus with business stakeholders

  5. Participate in strategic projects to ensure data governance standards for Facebook are integrated into new initiatives and applications

  6. Provide thought leadership in the data management space by establishing best practices and creating execution plan for the overall data strategy vision

  7. Design internal controls on data elements in line with Facebook’s Data Strategy

  8. Demonstration of continued progression and experience managing one or more of the following:

  9. Data-intensive operational functions

  10. Adoption and maintenance of corporate data policies

  11. Design of internal controls over data elements

  12. Ability to work independently on cross-functional teams

  13. Allocating and tracking data governance work across team members

  14. Manage and mentor team in the data governance to help them grow and become knowledgeable to execute independently in the domain

  15. Collaborate across the enterprise to gain alignment data management governance

  16. Facilitate the development and implement data quality standards, data protection standards and adoption requirements across the business unit

  17. Review and provide input on Data Warehouse Framework and Master Data Management as it relates to the rhythm of the business

  18. Advance the Data Management technology platforms to meet business goals

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's Degree with 10+ years information systems experience

  2. 8+ years of data management experience

  3. Experience with industry leading MDM tools

  4. Experience developing Data Governance principles, standards and procedures

  5. 10+ years of experience with focus on systems, data information and operations

  6. 10+ years experience of people management

  7. Demonstrated quantitative and analytic experience

  8. Communication experience, along with experience interacting with business

  9. Experience resolving and communicating about issues with both technical and non-technical audiences

  10. Proven experience recruiting, developing, managing and leading teams

  11. Experience working with virtual and global cross-functional teams

  12. Experience managing multiple projects and tasks

  13. Problem solving experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Data related certifications e.g. CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional)

  2. Experience working with or in support of diverse communities

  3. Experience in working in large-scale systems environments
