A full-time RESEARCH ASSOCIATE is available in the laboratory of Kristen Demoruelle, MD, PhD, Assistant Professor in the Division of Rheumatology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. The successful candidate will lead experiments that study unique cellular phenotypes in the peripheral blood and lung associated with rheumatoid arthritis (RA)-related autoimmunity, with a particular focus on aberrancies of neutrophil extracellular trap (NET) formation.
Job Responsibilities:The duties and responsibilities of this position will include, but will not be restricted to, the performance of techniques involving cellular processing of blood and sputum, identification and analysis of neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs), cell based activation systems, immunofluorescence staining and imaging, flow cytometry and ELISA-based antibody testing. In addition to carrying out experiments, the responsibilities include optimization of protocols and ensuring accuracy of experiments.

Required education/experience/skills (minimum qualifications):
PhD, experience with cell-based lab techniques
Desired qualifications: A background in immunology and/or microbiology, meticulous attention to detail and accuracy, good interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, ability to troubleshoot problems and provide possible solutions.
