The Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, Division of Family Planning has an opening for a full- time Registered Nurse, providing professional services in our clinic on the Lowry campus. The missionof Family Planningis to provide the comprehensive family planning services to women in the community.
The position will coordinate patient care and communicate with clinical and office staff. Assisting in a variety of office procedures will be a predominant role. The nurse will also provide direct patient care in the form of administering IV sedation, monitoring patients during sedation and recovery, ultrasound assessment and pre-and post-procedure counseling. The nurse also may respond to patient inquiries in person and/or by phone. This nurse will demonstrate competency in caring for the complex patients and participate on the Care Team to improve the quality of care in the clinical area. Some administrative work required, and other duties as assigned.
With this new position, protocols and procedures may need to be modified. The position can recommend strategies to improve productivity based on previous experience and knowledge of the clinic. The position will work with the office manager, RNs, MAs, and staff physicians to implement any clinical changes.
Requirements of position:
Colorado Registered Nurse, EMT, or Paramedic license is required.
Preferred experience: 12 months or more as a practicing registered nurse in a procedure clinic administering IV sedation.
Competencies: BLS, ACLS
Experience setting up sterilization trays and clinical equipment.
Preference of training in performance of ultrasound.
Bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred.
