The Department of Pharmacology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking applicants to fill a tenure-track faculty position at theAssistant, Associate, or Professorlevel in the area of*neuroscience/neurotechnologywith a focus on candidates developing and/or leveragingnoveloptical imaging tools and methodsto understand nervous system function. The research of the applicant should emphasize molecular, cellular and circuit mechanisms that are broadly related to understanding human nervous system diseases and/or the actions of existing drugs or the development of new drugs and therapies to treat neurological and neuropsychiatric disorders. In particular, we seek applicants whose research would complement our existing strengths inneuropharmacology*studying regulation of neurotransmitter receptors, ion channels, cell adhesion molecules, kinase and phosphatase signal transduction, and gene expression in control of neuronal function in normal learning and memory, as well as in neurodegeneration, ischemic brain injury, intellectual disability, schizophrenia, autism, and addiction.

One of the central missions of the NTC is to recruit faculty whose research is focused on developing, adapting, and implementing novel technologies to study nervous system function (both basic and translational). In this search we are in particular seeking applicants who use and develop novel molecular and cellular imaging methods, tools and approaches,including optical sensors and probes,to study nervous system function/in vitro/,/ex vivo/and/or/in vivo/.
