In FAAS we work with our clients’ finance teams and wider organisation to provide practical, hands-on support and solutions relating to accounting, financial reporting and internal controls in times of change or challenge. We combine technical accounting skills in NZ IFRS, and PBE standards, practical experience in financial reporting, as well as deep sector and regulatory knowledge.
We are looking for a Manager within the Financial Accounting Advisory Services team in either our Auckland or Wellington office. This role is offered on a full-time basis.
Your key responsibilities
Plan, manage and participate in various engagements (application of accounting standards, review of financial accounting processes and internal controls, design and provide tailored training, implement intelligent automation and / or data analytics solutions, and others)
Understand the client’s industry sector and recognise key performance drivers, business trends, and new technical and industry developments
Prepare deliverables tailored to client needs
Supervise small engagement teams and review work performed
Continually learn, share knowledge with team members, and enhance service delivery
Help prepare proposals and realize business development plans through a strong professional network
Act as mentor for team members
Skills and attributes for success
Project management skills with a proven ability to execute under pressure
Impeccable client relationship skills
Audit or business experience in process improvement and / or assessment of design effectiveness of internal controls
Required: CA or equivalent professional qualification
Ideally, you’ll also have
A degree in accounting and/or other appropriate academic major and a minimum of 6 years’ relevant experience
Knowledge in accounting standards (NZ IFRS and / or PBE standards)
A natural thirst for knowledge and continuous learning and improvement
