Cost Management Support Specialist - Auburn, MI

Pay Rate: $20-24/hour

Job Description:

The Cost Management Support Specialist is responsible for the execution of multiple processes relative to functional Cost Management. Responsibilities include operational activities, including data entry, reporting, auditing, and substantiation to ensure financial consistency and integrity. This role provides the required support to Cost Managers relative to the review and validation of IBM consumption to substantiate the submitted charges. Included in this billing are other 3rd party vendor cost management services for telecommunications and windows based infrastructure. Labor file processing to support recharge activities, Accenture billing and capital work arrangements are also completed by Cost Management Support Specialists. Responsibilities also include supporting Cost Managers with the maintenance of accurate work process documentation. This role is ultimately responsible to support Cost Managers with the execution of work processes to ensure financial controls, governance and proper substantiation activities and reporting are occurring accurately for internal and Sarbanes-Oxley financial compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Internal, external (Sarbanes-Oxley) and 3rd party vendor financial governance and compliance as required per defined processes.

  • High tolerance for and ability to quickly adapt to changes in processes and organizations.

  • Independent time and task management and execution with minimal guidance, strong collaboration and interpersonal effectiveness attributes.

  • Full accountability for execution with minimal oversight and coaching from Cost Managers.

Key Skills & Abilities

  • Proficient Knowledge of Excel, Power Query and Power BI

  • Working Knowledge of SAP ECC and Diamond Systems Reporting

  • Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office; Word and PowerPoint

  • Excellent Collaboration and Innovation Competencies

  • Customer Service Mindset

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Minimum of Associates degree in accounting or financial preferred; or equivalent industry experience

  • Experience: 3-5 years of relevant working experience; finance, accounting, etc.
