Sound judgment, excellent communication skills and the ability to drive decisions through consensus and influence change are a must.What You’ll Do:The On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) Production Vehicle Evaluation (PVE) Engineer will join the Vehicle Safety and Regulatory Compliance (VSRC) Team and be responsible for documenting on-board diagnostics production vehicle evaluation test procedures for all OBD fault codes for vehicles that must be tested per the California Air Resources Board (CARB) OBD regulation.•Provide PVE test procedures to PVE test group by Job 1•Provide PVE test plan to management for submission to CARB by PVE vehicle receipt•Provide PVE test results to management for submission to CARB in 6 months from 2% of normal production (V-2)•Update PVE plan and PVE test results templates as needed from management and CARB requirements•Participate in workshops with the suppliers prior to present templates for PVE plan and PVE test results•Update PVE test issues as needed and publish to management weekly•Meet with calibration teams and suppliers to resolve test issuesBasic Qualifications:•Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Computer Science•Minimum 5 years of experience in solving automotive-related problems•Good understanding of gasoline or diesel engine hardware, systems, diagnostics, controls and calibration•Apply appropriate procedures and methodologies for project management (planning, scheduling, reporting) to reach project deliverables•Excellent written and verbal communication skills•Strong leadership and interpersonal skills•Ability to effectively operate both independently and as part of a team•Self-motivated, highly organized and proactive•Knowledge of on-board diagnostic regulationsPreferred Qualifications:•Experience in diesel engine hardware, engine-systems, controls or calibration with an OEM, or supplier•Minimum 3 years’ experience with OBD Regulations 13CCR 1968.2/1971.1, SAE J1979•MATLAB/Simulink experience•Hybrid System knowledge•Transmission system knowledge•Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA)•Automotive assembly plant and/or program launch experience•Self-starter and motivated to produce results•Excellent program management and communication skillsOur benefits reflects the FCA commitment to helping you reach your personal and professional goals.
