FCA US, LLC Design Release Engineer Rear Closures in Auburn Hills, Michigan
The Rear Closures Engineer is responsible for the engineering, design, development, timing, and release of body closure sheet metal and hinging systems. Other responsibilities will include development and validation of assigned components and communicating technical product status and competitor benchmarking to management. The Engineer will coordinate the packaging with all adjacent departments (trim/electromechanical, electrical, lighting, trim) as well as work with virtual validation groups to ensure that the CAE scorecard is met as well as manufacturing feasibility. Maintain and update DVPR, DFMEA, EKF rules.Basic Qualifications:•Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited or equivalent program•Proficient in Microsoft Office skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint•Intermediate to advanced level of design/development engineering experience in Body-Body in White, Closures, or Exterior SystemsPreferred Qualifications:•Previous internships•Knowledgeable in use of Unigraphics NX and Teamcenter•Knowledge and experience with composites and composite production processes•Knowledge and experience with steel/aluminum forming processes•BIW in-plant launch experience preferred•Experience with Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis (DFMEA) preferred•Experience with Design Verification Plan Report (DVPR) preferred•Knowledgeable in regards to high strength steels, weld parameters and GDTOur benefits reflects the FCA commitment to helping you reach your personal and professional goals.
