Home Depot Senior Analyst, Data Science in Atlanta, Georgia
The Marketing Analytics team is responsible for advanced analytics, segmentation & predictive modeling for the digital marketing and marketing technology teams at The Home Depot. Online Personalization, Merchandising and Traditional Marketing are also under the purview of Marketing Analytics team.
Sr. Analyst, Data Science uses bigdata platforms, advanced data science tools, techniques and processes to support The Home Depot’s customer centric marketing initiatives. This position is also responsible for providing actionable insights to a broad range of audiences including senior leaders and internal clients from marketing, operations and merchandising. Being a subject matter expert in advanced statistical, econometric, and quantitative analytic techniques Sr. Analyst, Data Science plays a pivotal role in enhancing THD’s ability to anticipate and fulfil our customer needs.
The position is also responsible for developing statistical models, implementing Machine Learning, creating of test/learn strategies, managing audiences segments, and measurement. Being a stakeholder in The Home Depot’s Marketing Technology & Innovation stack, this individual will work closely with Home Depot IT, Data Science, campaign management and vendor teams. Sr. Analyst, Data Science is expected to be an entrepreneurial and inspiring partner who can keep customer first while driving towards THDs long term goals.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
20% Conduct thorough analyses to develop / validate customer segmentations, develop and compute customer value metrics and support ad-hoc requests for data extraction, modeling and analysis
20% Conduct analyses to understand the impact of potential businesss decisions on customer spend and profitability
15% Analyze transaction data to identify purchase triggers and indicators for future value customers in support of predictive / forward looking marketing campaigns
10% Work across the organization and leverage cross functional teams to provide expert analytical support
10% Interpret statistical and analytical results and make suggesions for modeling improvments
15% Prepare clear and concise reports, charts, tables and presentations to support business decisions
10% Validate and update models periodically and provide validation reports
NATURE AND SCOPE
Position reports to the Senior Manager, Consumer Analytics
No associates report to this role on a permanent basis, but requires the technical leadership of a project work team: may select team members and assess capabilities, provide technical training, provide information necessary to meet work, project or program objectives, evaluate program or project performance.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Additional Environmental Job Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Additional Minimum Qualifications:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
Years of Relevant Work Experience: 3 years
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Master’s degree in Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Operations, or equivalent
Digital marketing experience or advertising operations
Previous experience in predictive modeling/ machine learning
Previous experience in leading large analytical projects
Experience in Python, R, Scala, Spark, Hive, Map Reduce, SAS, SQL
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:
Strong verbal and written communications skills at all levels; ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
Proven ability to analyze, evaluate and interpret complex data using advanced statistical, econometric and quantitative analysis techniques
Knowledge of quantitative theories and techniques and their role in a business context
Skilled in the use of statistical programming software, especially SAS
Proficient with PowerPoint, Excel, Access
