Provides travel consultations to students based on established protocols and guidelines; administers immunizations according to student requirements and public health recommendations; coordinates and implements off-site immunization sessions for selected student populations; administers allergy injections per student's allergist orders.
Helps to coordinate Emory University Student Health Services (EUSHS) staff immunization compliance.
Serves on quality improvement committee, monitors vaccine supplies and orders vaccines as needed, oversees Directly Observed Therapy for tuberculosis prophylaxis, monitors currency and supplies of vaccine information materials, serves as a resource to other staff concerning travel and immunization issues, and participates in continuing education activities.
Maintains familiarity with evolving recommendations concerning immunization and traveler's health. Able to work independently and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Works cooperatively and productively in a multi-disciplinary organization, which includes primary care, mental health, and other health and wellness programs.
Documents all services in electronic medical record. As needed, performs other routine nursing duties including but not limited to: triaging patients, assisting clinicians in exams, performing routine lab tests, administering IV fluids, and performing EKGs.
Performs other related duties as required.
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia.
Two years of experience practicing as an RN. A BSN is preferred.
Experience in a Travel and Immunization Clinic setting required.
- Experience in College Health and Travel assessments preferred but not required. A BSN is preferred, but not required.
