This position will ensure adherence to technology standards and policies and drives continuous improvement in services. The Network Engineer Intermediate is a technical position responsible for the administration of University wide network system and will engage in the following,The scope of responsibility will include these more specific duties / areas but is not limited to the following,Analyze current networking process and procedures and implement new processes and procedures to improve network availability and performance.Design, install, configure, and manage the operations of the campus network infrastructure hardware and software according to BOR, IIT, and industry best practices.Document networking systems interconnections, configuration, and processes. Create end user documentation for applications supported by Network Engineering.Evaluate new emerging technologies for adaptation and implementation in the campus network infrastructure.Perform on call duties as required by the department. Work flexible and extended schedule including nights and weekends to support implementations and incident response as needed.Provide level two diagnostics and problem fault isolation for complex networking problems.Support Information Security on the tracking down and deactivation of network systems and users with security issues.
