Job Description

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Assists VP of Labor relations with the Company’s collective bargaining.

  • Provides Labor Relations Training to managers and supervisors for collective bargaining agreements and in the prevention and resolution of labor relations issues.

  • Serves as liaison to management in addressing client concerns regarding unionization.

  • Works closely with Vice President of Labor Relations in leading the development and implementation of the Company’s labor relations strategies and policies in accordance with Company objectives.

  • Serves as strong Management advocate while maintaining a professional and productive relationship with union leadership.

  • Oversees collective bargaining agreements administration including partnering with Company Benefits team regarding bargaining unit members’ benefits programs.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Implements processes to track and assess grievances and employee discipline, and implements pro-active counter measures to address recurring issues.

  • Facilitates grievance dispute resolution, processes and tracks grievances, monitors trends and proactively advises managers on possible resolutions to issues.

  • Manages resolution of grievances at arbitration level and provides support for counsel in arbitration.

  • Oversees collective bargaining agreements administration including partnering with Company Benefits team regarding bargaining unit members’ benefits programs.

  • Advises and support managers and supervisors on labor relations issues.

  • Provides Labor Relations training for managers and supervisors.

  • Serves as liaison for managers and union leadership.

  • Serves as representative and administrator for implementation of collective bargaining agreement provisions for applicable Region Teams.

  • Responds to Union Information Requests for collective bargaining.

  • Partners and assists counsel with preparing and responding to NLRB regarding Unfair Labor Practices.

  • Works closely with Human Resources Leadership to manage positive employee relations for bargaining unit employees.

  • BS/BA Labor Relations, Human Resource Management or closely related field or specific work experience

  • 1 to 3 years Labor Relations or Human Resources experience or specific work experience.

Other requirements or competencies:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Relates well to all kinds of people; builds appropriate rapport; practices attentive and active listening.

  • Ability to work independently and function as part of a team.

  • Willingness to travel 40%.
